  • gone but not forgotten

So it's been a while.  Things have been busy.  Life is good but insane.  The past 2 days I have been at home with not a lot to do.  It's strange.  I'm not used to being at home.  I'm about to start or finish some cleaning.

So, what has happened in the past month.....
    • I've pretty much decided I'm going to go to grad school.  Possibly Mid-America Nazarene.  Right now it's just a waiting game.
    • My hair has gotten blonder.
    • I finally got the rest of the money for selling my wedding dress.  And bought myself a present with it.
    • I have sunburned multiple times.  Hello summer!
    • I made a lasagna.
    • I've driven about a million miles.
    • I redecorated my bedroom.
    • I applied for another job which I did not get.
    • I took a mini-vacation.  I heart Stockton lake.  :)
    • I've missed my friends.  We're all too damn busy.
    • I've gone fishing a lot.
    • I've upped my hours at work.  Now it's up to a million and one hours a week.  Or 98.  Whatev.
    • My sister moved in with me, sort of.
    • I drove to Tulsa and it was RIDICULOUS.
Here are some pictures of my redecoration.  I finally broke down and spent a little money to make my bedroom how I wanted it.  I finally found a good mix of pink and beachy.  There are no inbetween pictures.  Just the true before and after.

    Before.  Super beachy, obvious colors.

After, pink and perfect.  The comforter is pink, it's pretty light so for some reason it looks white-ish in this picture.  And usually my pillows match better.  But whatever, you get the picture.

  • every week

So, I've worked 2 of my 3 long days.  That means 32 hours down, 16 to go.  And then approximately 16 more over 2 days before my week is done.  I'm soooooo tired.  I know, I say this every week about this time.  But I'm not sure I could be more exhausted than I am right now.

My apartment is scattered with clothes.  I am rarely messy.  Yet, I lack the energy to care.

Yesterday I watched at least 6 hours of design shows on HGTV and TLC.  That left me wishing I had more money to redecorate my bedroom.  It's hanging in a.... um one of those inbetween places.  Half pink and soft and half beachy.  I want the pink half to win.  But I'm never here to justify the cost of a couple of decorating things to make it perfect.

And now I'm going to bed.

  • bananas, brad, and .....

So, I know I'm super lame because I never write anything.  I'm insanely busy and it just can't be helped.  A list of random things that occurred only yesterday....
    • I got my first mothers day present ever yesterday.  No, I am not pregnant.  I am basically "mom" to 10 kids at work.  My boss got all the female staff cards that had Starbucks gift cards tucked inside.  Hooray.
    • I got kicked in the face yesterday.  No bruise though.  I kinda wish I had something to show for it because it hurt like crazy.
    • I was dizzy most of the day yesterday and my amazing partner let me get away with doing next to nothing.
    • Last night I learned that I will be going to see Brad Paisley in KC in August.  Hooray!  It had been discussed, but I am so excited about it!
The other day I told a kid to quit smacking his banana.  I don't know, it was funny.  It didn't come out at all how I meant it.

Okay, we all know I'm ridiculously obsessed with Scrubs.  Supposedly last week was the series finale on NBC and I was so upset because it didn't really end.  But because I'm a nerd, I am Zach Braff's friend on mySpace.  I know, don't even say it.  Whatever.  So I read this tonight when I got home from work.

    SCRUBS MOVES TO ABC

    Dear friends,

Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.

Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD.

Hope this clears some things up.

    peace and love,
    zb

So, Scrubs is not over and most likely Elliott and JD will end up together.  And we'll all live happily ever after.  Hooray!  I was pretty upset last week.

Now I'm headed for sleep and then my last fully day of work for the week.  Then it'll be off to the lake to sleep, fish, and eat some fish.  Now that's the life.

  • exhaustion

I am mentally and physically exhausted.  I am not confident that I will make it through the 16 hour day I have to work tomorrow.  Things at work are pretty crazy.  And I'm thinking of looking for something less.... draining.

I feel a little bad though.  I've always said I wanted a job where I felt like I was making a difference in the world.  And I feel like maybe I am.  But I also feel like I'm losing myself in it.  And I don't think that's the way it's supposed to be.

I wish I could see what the future would hold.  I wish I knew what to do.

  • I believe we have finally achieved spring weather.  I could not be happier.  It's absolutely gorgeous.  I've gotten to spend so much time outside lately.  And that is amazing.
